Questions
How the videos play, who can watch them, what happens to them, delivery and gifts. Can’t find your question? Email [email protected] and a person will reply.
A printed photobook with videos behind some of its photos. A Nokoru book is a real hardcover, with no screen in the cover, no battery and no QR codes on the pages. Point the free Nokoru app at one of those photos and its video plays on your phone or tablet.
The QR code on the back of the book tells the app which book it is. Then it recognises each printed photo itself, so there’s no QR code, sticker or marker on the pages.
Just the free Nokoru app. It runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 15.1 or later) and on Android (version 7 or later). With AirPlay you can also send any video to your TV.
Yes. The videos stream to the phone when you point it at a photo, so you’ll need Wi-Fi or mobile data. That keeps them in full quality without filling up anyone’s phone. The book itself works perfectly well offline: it’s a book.
Yes. You can do the whole thing on a phone: upload, pair your videos, lay out the pages, choose the size and paper, and order. A computer adds a few extra tools (placing and overlapping photos freely, text on the page, backgrounds and themes), so if you want those, build it at a desk.
Yes, and we’d love to see what you make. Email [email protected] before you start, and we’ll help you get your Canva designs ready to print and scan.
That’s fine: you choose which photos get a video. The rest are printed photos, the way photobooks have always been.
Most books arrive within 6 to 7 working days, depending on the book you order. Delivery times are estimates rather than guarantees: if your book hasn’t arrived within 30 days (and the delivery address you gave us was correct), you can cancel for a full refund. And if anything arrives with a printing fault, we reprint your book free.
Not yet. For now we deliver to UK addresses only. Leave your email and country on the waiting list and we’ll write once, when we deliver there. How many people ask from each country helps us decide where to go next.
Not just anyone. Every Nokoru book is private or shared, and you choose which. With a private book, only the people you approve can watch. With a shared book, you’re sharing its videos with whoever has the book in their hands, in the free Nokoru app.
Who gets to watch. A private book is for the people you choose: you approve each one, and for anyone else the photos stay photos. A shared book is shared with whoever you give it to: anyone holding it can scan the QR code on the back with the free Nokoru app and watch its videos. Neither kind is ever posted online. Shared means with the people holding the book, not with the whole internet.
Not by searching or browsing. We don’t put your videos on a public web page, gallery or feed, so there’s nothing for anyone to look up or stumble across. They play in the Nokoru app, as part of your book, for the people who can watch it.
Yes. With a shared book, anyone holding it can watch in the free Nokoru app, which is handy when the book lives at Nan’s. With a private one, invite them from your account once it’s printed, and the videos will play on their phones too.
No. The app is free, and with a shared book that’s all they need. With a private one, invite them from your account before you wrap it, and the videos will play for them too.
Your own. Every video in a Nokoru book is a real clip you chose, usually the one you took on your phone at the time. When someone points their phone at the photo, they see and hear what actually happened. Nokoru never uses AI to make, animate or alter anything.
Nothing sudden. When you order, you choose how long we keep your videos (3, 5, 10 or 30 years), and we’ll remind you well before the time’s up, so you can extend it. The printed book stays exactly as it is, whatever you decide.
We only deliver within the UK for now. Tell us where you are and we’ll email you once, when Nokoru delivers there.
Join the waiting list and we’ll email you on the day, with your own code for 20% off your first book.
